Background

When physicians around the world today perform clinical diagnosis it can take several days before the right treatment can be started. This is due to centralized sample analysis, which leads to long turnaround times. In order to help the physicians immediately start the right treatment an increasing number of point-of-care analysis systems are being implemented. With the new systems the local health care personnel can perform the sample analysis autonomously.

Using Point-of-Care systems means that the health care personnel transfers the sample to a disposable analysis chip preloaded with reagents and reads the analysis chip in a hand held or desktop sized analyzer. Some simpler analyses are already decentralized in this way, e.g. quantitative determination of blood sugar and cholesterol. To decentralize more advanced analyses a new class of highly functional analysis chips is needed.

With more than 20 years of hands-on experience of industrial photopolymerization the founders of Celoxio have developed a revolutionizing analysis chip manufacturing technology for the fabrication of highly functional polymeric analysis chips.

Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Celoxio AB was founded in 2007 with the goal of becoming a world leading supplier of highly functional analysis chips for the in vitro diagnostics market.
