Designed material properties

Within our materials development we continuously develop materials with new bulk and surface properties. We will offer an increasing range of designed bulk and surface material properties, for instance hard to soft materials with hydrophobic to hydrophilic surface properties.

The hard to soft materials range allows substitution of existing soft materials or inclusion of soft membranes in hard monolithic chips. The hydrophilic to hydrophobic range allows control of microflows with capillary forces instead of external or internal active pumps. Since all our materials are combinable, several materials with different bulk and surface properties can be utilized in the same chip.

What is mentioned above is just an example of what is possible. We will for instance also offer materials that repel certain organic compunds, such as proteins, in order to secure that the sought substance reaches the detection position instead of adsorbing on the channel walls. We will continuously expand what is thought of as possible to ensure each chip's superior performance!
